Why take part ?
There are many reasons why schools benefit from the participation and support of outside organisations and businesses. Essentially, Panasonic funding provides:
Panasonic's support for KWN provides participating students with an opportunity to be creative and have a great deal of autonomy outside of the mainstream pressures of the curriculum. Having said that, the skills that they will pick up as part of course are invaluable tools for supporting almost any part of that curriculum.
The essential skills learned are based around video production and these skills offer the students a fresh way of looking at familiar subjects and also a way to explore new ground without the perceived barrier of written work or book-based learning. The video productions skills include technical know-how but also encompass team-work, verbal communication, visual literacy and story-telling.
